  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt until smooth. Spread two-thirds of this mixture into the pan.
  3. In another bowl, mix cream cheese, pumpkin puree, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger until smooth. Spread over the brownie layer.
  4. Dollop remaining brownie batter on top and swirl together with a knife.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool before slicing.
