Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix (13.25 oz)
  • ⅓ cup neutral oil (vegetable, canola, or avocado)
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 oz candy melts
  • White nonpareils or sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, oil, milk or water, and eggs; mix until smooth. Pour into a greased baking pan. Bake according to package instructions until a toothpick comes out clean.
  3. Once cooled, crumble the cake into fine crumbs using a stand mixer or by hand. Mix in softened butter and powdered sugar until well combined.
  4. Roll the mixture into balls about 1¼ inches in diameter and chill in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  5. Melt candy melts as per package instructions. Dip lollipop sticks into the melts before inserting them halfway into each cake ball.
  6. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy coating and decorate with sprinkles before it hardens.
  7. Place upright in a styrofoam block to set completely.
