Soft-Baked Apple Cinnamon Rolls are a heavenly delight that combines the warm, gooey goodness of cinnamon and sweet apples, making them an irresistible treat perfect for any occasion.

  • 250g whole milk, lukewarm
  • 50g Granulated Sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dried yeast
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 565g All-Purpose Flour
  • 100g Unsalted Butter, at room temperature
  • 850g – about four medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced small
  • 30g Unsalted Butter
  • 80g Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 Tbsp Corn starch
  • 125g Pecan Halves
  • 190g Unsalted Butter, at room temperature
  • 280g Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp plus 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Kosher salt
  • 115g Unsalted Butter, at room temperature
  • 225g Cream Cheese, at room temperature
  • 250g Powdered Sugar, sifted
  • 12 Tbsp Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Warm whole milk and combine it with sugar and yeast; let it froth.
  2. Mix in eggs, salt, and gradually add flour until a dough forms. Blend in butter.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes. Let it rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  4. Cook diced apples with butter, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and cornstarch until softened.
  5. Prepare the cinnamon filling by mixing softened butter with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Roll out the dough, spread the cinnamon filling, layer apple filling and pecans, then roll up tightly.
  7. Slice into rolls, place on a lined baking sheet, and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. For frosting, beat together cream cheese and butter; mix in powdered sugar and adjust consistency with cream.
  10. Frost cooled rolls generously before serving.
