  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup apricot jam
  • Zest from 1/2 orange
  • Glaze: powdered sugar, milk, orange blossom water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, warm water, yeast, and sugar. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the mixture. Gradually incorporate flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with cloth, and let it rise until doubled in size (approximately 1 hour).
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread apricot jam evenly, sprinkle with orange zest, then roll tightly and slice into 12 pieces.
  6. Arrange in a greased baking dish; cover and allow to rise for another 30–40 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for about 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk and orange blossom water; drizzle over warm rolls.
