  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup raspberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for raspberry swirl)
  • A small amount of water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat until smooth. Cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until combined with the cooled chocolate mixture.
  4. Sift flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder into the bowl; fold gently until just combined.
  5. In another saucepan, cook raspberries with sugar and a small amount of water over medium heat until they break down into a sauce; cool slightly.
  6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Spoon dollops of raspberry sauce on top, followed by the remaining brownie batter and more raspberry sauce. Swirl with a knife or skewer.
  7. Bake for about 30 minutes or until edges are set but center remains soft. Let cool before cutting into squares.
