  • 6 small flour tortillas
  • ⅓ cup salted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup finely crushed vanilla wafer crumbs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 20 oz canned apple pie filling (or fresh sautéed apples)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream (or full-fat coconut milk)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brush both sides of each tortilla with melted butter, then coat in a mixture of crushed vanilla wafers and cinnamon.
  3. Place the coated tortillas over the bars of the oven rack or in a taco mold and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the apple pie filling with heavy cream until warmed through.
  5. Fill each crispy shell with the warm apple mixture, top with whipped cream and caramel sauce if desired.
